Considering NEXT?
Here's everything you need to know and what to tell your parents.

1. Who can apply for NEXT?
NEXT is for young adults ages 18-22 to serve in the context of camp ministry, grow in their personal journey and explore foundational tools in the pristine beauty of Vancouver Island.

2. When is NEXT?
The coming season for the NEXT program is September 11th, 2017 – April 29th, 2018. Majority of NEXTers choose to apply to stay on as spring and summer staff from May-August where they will have opportunities utilize their skills and abilities.
3. What will NEXT cost?
The NEXT program will cost $2,500 (cost includes food, accommodation, study materials, trips and courses). NEXTers who apply to continue from May-August will also receive a small allowance along with the rest of the summer staff. The program rate is affordable because part of the program involves facilitating the rental groups that come during the fall and winter season. The NEXTers typically work 8 hours/per day when rental groups are in.
4. How many students are accepted into NEXT?
We will be accepting 8-10 students.
5. What will food and accommodation look like?
The NEXT students will live on Camp Homewood property and eat with the groups during scheduled meal times. On days off, NEXTers will have access to cooking meals or eating leftovers. Students are responsible to purchase any additional food or snacks they might like.

7. What tools will I receive by the end of the NEXT program?
The NEXT student will receive:

7 credits towards study at Columbia Bible College

Advanced Wilderness First Aid (5-day certification)

Advanced Canoe Course (3-day certification)

Foodsafe Level #1 (1-day certification)

Field Leader #1 (2-day certification)

Apologetics Canada Conference
8. When do I need to apply?
The application deadline is July 30th or until the program fills up.
